Hi Richard,

Is there any way you could make the KeepHidden token work on its own as a link, rather than as a checkbox in combination with the Hide token?

I'd like people to have a one-click method for keeping it hidden.

I'm finding that the current KeepHidden method is just a tiny bit too hard for people, when a single-click would work well... same as the Hide token does, but permanent.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

That sounds like a great idea. I'll put that on the list for the next update.

Hi Richard,

Yes, I second this very strongly. I have actually been using the module incorrectly until now ;) I thought that Hide Now was permanent until you changed the content version number but I see now it is only for that session. I don't know how much use this is but I guess there are some cases for it. Most people would want it hidden perm I reckon. Let me show you how I used it:

Most pages have a "Tip" at the top of them that gives new users an overview of the page and what their options are. I don't think they'll ever need to see this again once they use the site (unless I change the content number). So I would like a new token called "HidePerm" which looks like Hide but works like the checkbox and is just a single link.

One token that would be cool would be a StopTimer - so if a user wanted to KEEP the tip they could stop their one counting down. So this is how I would like it to look (but work permanently):

Hi Richard,

Now that I realize how it is supposed to work this feature is more necessary than ever. It's easiest to explain by demonstration - when you have 5 min, can you log in to PokerDIY and you'll see I use this module on a lot of pages as "Tips" to guide the user (actually, you can see it here when logged out - http://www.pokerdiy.com/poker-league/lid/241/rods-sydney-poker-league.aspx

The problem is that people are going to close it and then it's going to keep coming back. I tried to work in the checkbox but it just doesn't fit (usability or looks). Can you please add the new token so that it stays hidden forever with a single click?

Hi Rodney,

I was working on this feature the other day. I have a working version but I want to make sure it's not going to handcuff me on some other options.

Excellent, thanks Richard - let me know if you want me to beta test... I think a new token would preserve existing functionality?

I see this has been released officially - thanks for the fast turnaround on this Richard! I have splattered this module all over PokerDIY now - the users love it!

Just cleaning up some request posts here and wanted to confirm that this was included in an earlier release, 01.01.01.

Added [KeepHiddenLink] token
* equivalent to combination of KeepHidden checked and Hide link
